Columbus Weekend: Friday Night Concert, Saturday Market and Blues, #AllOutFun!
Memorial Day Weekend and the official kickoff to Summer is right around the corner (more on that soon), but why wait to have a great get-a-way weekend? With Spring in full swing, a weekend in Columbus with locals and visitors almost couldn’t get more perfect. And, this coming weekend (May 18-20) is a perfect example of why Columbus is one of the best destinations in the South to visit, kick back, enjoy, and “go all out.”
Just a few of the hings going on:
The Spring Uptown Concert Series continues on Friday Night, May 18th at 7pm with Tribute: A Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band at the 1200 Block of Broadway
and Front Ave. Deck, 1028 Front Ave. Across from W.C. Bradley (lower level only).
Market Days on Broadway is an outdoor market that happens every Saturday morning at 9 am until noon. With over 100 vendors selling art, crafts, fresh produce, and all kinds of handmade and local items, this Market Days is one of the premier street markets in the South.
The 2018 Barks and Blues Festival will take place on May 19th from 4-11pm at Woodruff Park. We’ll be enjoying live music with “five local bands (Blues, Country, and Rock), a pet costume contest with celebrity judges, food trucks, adult beverages, raffles, arts and crafts vendors, kids zone, pet microchip discounts and pet adoption specials.” The event is free, but serves as a fundraiser for the Paws Humane Society.
Add all of this to whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Chattahoochee, bike rides, strolls down Market Street or along the river, great restaurants, museums, live theater shows, and so much more, and you have a the makings of a weekend you’ll never forget! Come see us!
